    Sette Ponti

Found in the 1950s by architect Alberto Moretti Cuseri after he acquired a land directly from Princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina of Savoy-Aosta, daughters of Prince Amedeo of Savoy-Aosta, Tenuta Sette Ponti is located on a site in Chianti that has long been recognised for its exceptional wines. As far back as 1716, the Grand Duke of Tuscany noted it as a place that produces high quality wines. While the estate is best known today for its flagship wine, Oreno, which consistently ranks among Wine Spectator's Top 100 and regularly receives high scores from the other top critics, their lesser known second wine, Crognolo, is also an impressive very alternative.

A wine that gives you everything you could possibly want: complexity, elegance, intensity and a long, creamy finish. Oreno is a 50-25-25 blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese (which prove to be perfect proportions in this case). It exhibits aromas of bright cherry, prune, plum, espresso grinds and cedar wood.

    Vinous (94)

The 2020 Oreno is a dark, brooding beauty. Black cherry, plum, tobacco, spice, menthol, licorice and dried herbs all race across the palate. Deep, fleshy and super-expressive, the 2020 Oreno has a ton to offer. It should drink well with minimal cellaring but also has enough substance to drink well for many years to come.
