    Rochioli

    Joe Rocchioli Sr. immigrated to America along with his parents in 1911 from Lucca, Italy and made their way across America to settle in Northern California. At just 10-years old, Joe Rocchioli laboured alongside his father on a farm called Wohler Ranch, in the Russian River Valley. In 1934 the family moved to a property called Fenton Acres – where the Rochioli Vineyards is today – and started to grow grapes. Pinot Noir was first planted on the estate in 1968. In 1983 the family decided to produce their own wines using the family name: Rochioli Vineyards. Today the wine-maker is the third generation to make wine on the estate. Tom Rocholi (they dropped one of the original ‘c’s along the way) takes his inspiration from the best Burgundian producers, practicing minimal intervention, separate plot vinification etc.
