Nicolas Joly
Nicholas Joly left JP Morgan to run the Coulee de Serrant estate in 1977. Situated in Savennieres, this is Chenin Blanc country. Joly's fortunes turned after reading a book by Rudolf Steiner about biodynamic principles. First trialling the ideas he then changed his approach and rejuvenated the vines. His approach produces wine with identity and expression.

(12x75cl) 2020Vinous (91)
This young Clos de la Coulée de Serrant is soft, round and mouthfilling. The fruit quality of the 2020 is concentrated and succulent without weight, but there's a light farmyardy character to the wine. Offering excellent grip and a fiery schist-derived finish. The alcohol (14.5%) is lightly warming but compared with some previous vintages, it's a little better judged.$1,179.00 -
