Reignac

The 2018 Balthus from Château de Reignac has a high-toned, iodine-tinged bouquet of cassis and crushed violet aromas, just a little too showy, perhaps. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, fleshy and rounded, slightly granular rather than silky in texture. Quite spicy toward the finish. This is a thoroughly enjoyable pure Merlot that just needs to evolve a bit more personality.$323.00 -

Showing beautifully from barrel and now from bottle, the 2019 Château De Reignac Grand Vin De Reignac reveals a dense purple/ruby hue as well as a classy, incredibly impressive bouquet of black currants, smoked tobacco, damp earth, graphite, and lead pencil. Tasting like a top Médoc, it's medium to full-bodied, has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. If you want a wine to shock your friends with in a blind tasting (or you just want a brilliant wine to drink), don't miss this beauty – it's worth a case purchase. It will keep for 10-15 years. It's the finest vintage I've tasted, and I might be conservative with the score.$146.00
