Mayacamas is one of the original high-flying cult Californian Cabernets from Napa Valley; among the estates that gave rise to this iconic class of wines. With just 20 hectares under vine, at altitudes between 1,800 and 2,400 feet of elevation, this legendary estate has some of the most enviable vineyards in Napa. Recently taken into new ownership, 2014 is just the second vintage made by Andy Erickson's ambitious new winemaking team. Their attention to detail combined with the natural gifts of the estate, including 40+ year-old vines, has set the stage for genuine brilliance.

Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and spices flesh out in a supple, super-ripe Cabernet Sauvignon with no hard edges. Here, too, the flavors remain surprisingly primary.
