Lascombes
Château Lascombes is a 2éme Grand Cru Classé (1855) Margaux wine. It is named after owner Antoine, Chevalier de Lascombes in the 1600s. In 2001 it was acquired by a US-based investment company, who spared no expense investing heavily to modernise the property. Michel Rolland was been brought in as consultant to produce a wine worthy of the terroir. In 2007 it was bought by a the French health professional’s mutual fund. The large, 117 hectare vineyard of Chateau Lascombes is planted with 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Lascombes is the largest vineyard in the Margaux appellation.
