The Haut-Chaigneau 2016 epitomises the refined elegance of Burgundy’s esteemed vineyards. Crafted by the renowned Domaine Chaigneau, this vintage hails from the premier appellations of Côte de Nuits, where meticulously selected Pinot Noir grapes thrive in limestone-rich soils. Employing traditional vinification methods, the grapes undergo gentle hand harvesting to preserve their pristine quality. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by ageing for eighteen months in French oak barrels, which imparts subtle vanilla and spice nuances. The Haut-Chaigneau 2016 boasts a captivating bouquet of ripe red berries, delicate floral notes, and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of vibrant acidity and silky tannins, culminating in a long, elegant finish. This exceptional vintage reflects Domaine Chaigneau’s unwavering dedication to craftsmanship and terroir expression, making Haut-Chaigneau 2016 a distinguished choice for aficionados seeking sophistication and depth in their fine wine collection. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)The 2019 Haut-Chaigneau, a Lalande-de-Pomerol under Pascal Chatonnet's umbrella, has a vivacious nose with ample raspberry and blackberry fruit with traces of sous-bois. Fine definition and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with an appealing saline entry and well judged acidity. Maybe it needs a little more length, but there is clearly good winemaking at work on this delightful wine. Very promising. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2020 Haut-Chaigneau represents a fine Lalande-de-Pomerol. Black plums commingle with leather and pencil lead scents that is well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with lovely sappiness on the entry, impressive depth and commendable balance. That Cabernet Franc imparts an attractive pencil lead tincture on the finish that gives it a Left Bank allure. This has kicked on nicely through its élevage and deserves a higher score than I gave from barrel. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (84-86)The 2021 Haut-Chaigneau has a light and, in this sample, slightly reduced bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy, muscular tannins, quite firm in the mouth but missing finesse and complexity on the finish. |
