Dog Point
Since their debut 2002 vintage, ex-Cloudy Bay winemakers James Healy and Ivan Sutherland have been producing some of Marlborough’s finest Sauvignon, under their own label Dog Point. A tour de force in winemaking, Dog Point almost immediately became a benchmark for high quality New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. With emphasis on the vineyard, their wines are 'simply superb' and nothing short of exceptional, as well as being some of the best points-to-value Marlborough Sauvignon's around.

Good medium red. Sweet cherry aroma lifted by a floral note. Sweet and pliant in the mouth, with generous flavors of ripe red and darker berries and spices. Nicely shapely, suave pinot with fine-grained tannins and very good length. Delicious right now.$377.00 -
Wine Advocate (94+)
The 2020 Section 94 is today five years from its harvest, and it shows a preponderance of yellow fruits, exotic spices, layers of cloves, star anise and fennel, with white cloth and beeswax. It's a powerful, tightly coiled wine of great length and complexity. These evolve favorably in the future, so drinking the estate Sauvignon Blanc in its youth is recommended, while you allow this to age and settle. This is a very impressive wine. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.$246.00
