The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cherbaudes 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet of red cherries, wild strawberry and orange zest aromas, the mineralité surfacing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet candied opening, fleshy and ripe, but it needs a little more structure toward the finish. Great nose, but the palate needs to foment a little more class.$870.00 -

The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru is built on aromatic openness and persistence, both of which match its mid-weight personality nicely. Readers should expect an airy, silky style of Chambertin. Dried flower, spice and earthy undertones add lovely complexity throughout.$2,130.00 -

This is a very good bottle of BezeBuilt well, good red fruit, compote, a touch of woody spice but subtle, nice ripe pleasant tannins. Raspberry, crushed blackberry and cool blueberry and sloe.$2,600.00 -

Silky tannins and floral aromatics make a strong first impression in the 2015 Chapelle-Chambertin, one of the more delicate of the Grand Crus in the range. Sweet red cherry, mint, spice, pomegranate and wild flowers add to the wine's sensual personality.$1,755.00 -

The 2018 Corton Grand Cru feels a little dilute on the nose of airy red fruit, a little ephemeral in style. The palate is medium-bodied with rustic tannins and good acidity but a little simple for a Grand Cru on the finish. The jury is out on this.$780.00 -

The 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet of yellow plum and light mirabelle scents, touches of almond emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, fine acidity and touches of ginger and lemongrass toward the finish. This is the most promising of three wines tasted from Charles Van Canneyt.$1,125.00
