About Argiano
Argiano is without doubt 'one of the landmark estates' (Wine Advocate) in Montalcino. For 500 years the family has been among the most important in the region. Their ancient vineyards lie on a flat plateau 300 metres above sea level, protected by the Amiata mountain from any prevailing bad weather. Eric Guido says while he is 'not quite ready to say that Argiano is the most improved estate in Montalcino over the last ten years, they are certainly in the running for that title'.

The wine sports a saturated red/purple hue and a ripe, inviting nose of baked blackberries, plum, black olive, lavender, and fresh earth. It was aged for 18 months in 60% new French barriques. Full-bodied, it has polished tannins and a gamey richness that comes through on the palate, with refreshing acidity and a warming finish.
